Terms of Service

Plain-language summary: Junto is a family life management tool provided "as is." We do our best to make it useful, but we make no guarantees about accuracy, reliability, or availability. You use Junto at your own risk. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the app. By using Junto, you agree to these terms in full.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Junto mobile application ("App"), website at junto.family ("Website"), or any related services (collectively, the "Service"), you ("User," "you") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to all of these Terms, do not use the Service.

We may update these Terms at any time by posting the revised version on the Website or within the App. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically.

2. Description of Service

Junto is a personal and family life management application that provides tools for expense tracking, flight tracking, document storage, legacy planning, and related features. The Service is designed as a convenience tool to help you organize personal and family information.

Junto is not a financial advisor, tax consultant, legal advisor, accountant, insurance broker, travel agent, or medical professional. The Service does not provide financial, legal, tax, medical, or professional advice of any kind. Any information displayed in the App is for informational and organizational purposes only.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account and use the Service. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement. Minor family members may be added to a family group by an adult account holder, but minors may not independently create accounts.

4. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to maintain the security of your account.

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information updated.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

Junto offers both free and paid subscription tiers. Paid subscriptions are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store (collectively, "Platform Stores"). All billing, payment processing, refunds, and subscription management are handled entirely by the respective Platform Store.

We do not directly collect, process, or store any payment card information. For questions about billing, refunds, or cancellation, please contact the Platform Store through which you subscribed.

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Free trial periods, if offered, convert to paid subscriptions automatically unless cancelled before the trial ends.

Prices are subject to change. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of price changes, but continued use of paid features after a price change constitutes acceptance.

6. Auto-Capture Features

Junto may offer automatic expense capture through device notifications, SMS messages, and email receipts ("Auto-Capture Features"). These features are entirely opt-in, require explicit user consent for each capture method, and can be disabled at any time.

Auto-Capture processes notification and SMS content on your device only. Raw message content is never transmitted to our servers. Email receipt processing extracts only financial transaction data (amount, merchant, date, category) and does not read, store, or retain email content beyond momentary processing.

Important: Auto-captured expense data is generated through automated parsing and may contain errors, including incorrect amounts, merchants, dates, currencies, or categories. You are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and confirming all auto-captured data before relying on it. Junto does not guarantee the accuracy of any auto-captured information.

7. Flight Tracking

Flight data is sourced from third-party providers and may not reflect real-time conditions. Flight statuses, times, gates, terminals, delays, and cancellations displayed in Junto are informational only and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or delayed.

Do not rely on Junto as your sole source of flight information. Always verify flight details directly with your airline, airport, or official aviation authorities. Junto is not responsible for missed flights, incorrect travel decisions, or any consequences arising from reliance on flight data displayed in the App.

8. Document Vault and Legacy Planning

The document vault and legacy planning features allow you to store personal information including document details, financial records, insurance information, and other sensitive data. This data is encrypted on your device and in transit.

Junto is a storage and organizational tool only. It is not a legal document, a will, a trust, a power of attorney, or any legally binding instrument. Information stored in legacy planning features has no legal effect whatsoever. You must consult qualified legal professionals for estate planning, will preparation, and related legal matters.

Junto does not guarantee permanent data retention. While we make reasonable efforts to maintain data availability, you are responsible for maintaining your own backups of any important information stored in the Service.

9. Expense and Financial Tracking

Expense tracking, budgeting, spending summaries, and financial insights provided by Junto are for personal organizational purposes only. They are not accounting services, financial reports, tax records, or auditable documents.

Junto does not provide financial advice. Spending categories, budget comparisons, trends, and any other financial displays are estimates and organizational aids only. Do not use Junto data as a substitute for professional accounting, tax preparation, or financial planning. Junto is not liable for any financial decisions made based on information displayed in the App.

10. Travel Intelligence (AI-Generated Content)

Junto may provide AI-generated travel information including packing suggestions, destination tips, entry requirements, and other travel-related guidance ("Travel Intelligence"). This content is generated by third-party artificial intelligence services and web search results.

Travel Intelligence content may be inaccurate, outdated, incomplete, or misleading. Visa requirements, entry restrictions, health advisories, safety conditions, and other travel information change frequently and without notice. Always verify travel requirements directly with official government sources, embassies, consulates, and your airline before traveling. Junto accepts no responsibility for any consequences of relying on AI-generated travel information.

11. User Content and Data

You retain ownership of all data and content you input into the Service ("User Content"). By using the Service, you grant Junto a limited, non-exclusive license to process, store, and display your User Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

You are solely responsible for the accuracy, legality, and appropriateness of your User Content. Junto does not monitor, verify, or endorse User Content.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Junto expressly disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including but not limited to:

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties. In such jurisdictions, the above exclusions may not apply to you to the extent prohibited by applicable law. In such cases, the warranties are limited to the minimum extent permitted by law.

14. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, JUNTO, ITS DEVELOPER, AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, PARTNERS, AND LICENSORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, GOODWILL, DATA, USE, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER SUCH DAMAGES WERE FORESEEABLE AND WHETHER OR NOT JUNTO WAS ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Without limiting the foregoing, Junto's total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the total amount you paid to Junto in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) ten US dollars (USD $10.00).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the limitation or exclusion of liability for incidental or consequential damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Junto, its developer, affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, partners, and licensors from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to:

The Service integrates with or relies upon third-party services including but not limited to flight data providers, AI services (Google Gemini), cloud infrastructure (Supabase), mapping services (Mapbox), payment processing (Apple App Store, Google Play Store), and authentication providers (Google Sign-In, Sign in with Apple).

Junto does not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for any third-party services. Your use of third-party services is governed by their respective terms of service and privacy policies. Junto is not liable for the availability, accuracy, content, or practices of any third-party service.

17. Encryption and Security

Junto employs encryption to protect certain sensitive data stored in the Service. While we implement industry-standard security measures, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot and do not guarantee absolute security of your data.

If you lose access to your encryption keys or device, recovery of encrypted data may not be possible. Junto is not liable for data loss resulting from lost encryption keys, device loss, or any security incident.

18. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by using the account deletion feature within the App or by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause or notice.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We may delete your data in accordance with our data retention policies and Privacy Policy. Sections 13 through 16 and 19 through 22 shall survive any termination of these Terms.

19. Dispute Resolution and Arbitration

Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If the dispute cannot be resolved within thirty (30) days, either party may submit the dispute to binding arbitration.

Arbitration shall be conducted by a single arbitrator under the rules of an internationally recognized arbitration body mutually agreed upon by the parties. The language of arbitration shall be English.

Class Action Waiver: You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration against Junto.

20. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws applicable to the jurisdiction in which Junto operates, without regard to conflict of law principles. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

21. Force Majeure

Junto shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under these Terms due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of government, war, terrorism, pandemic, epidemic, power failures, internet or telecommunications failures, hardware failures, third-party service outages, or other force majeure events.

22. General Provisions

Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Junto regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements.

Severability: If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

Waiver: The failure of Junto to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.

Assignment: You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent. Junto may assign these Terms without restriction.

No Agency: Nothing in these Terms creates any agency, partnership, joint venture, or employment relationship between you and Junto.
