When you make a purchase, your bank sends a notification to your phone. Junto reads that notification on your device, extracts the amount, merchant, and currency, and creates a draft expense for you to review. It supports 40+ currencies and works even when the app is closed. SMS and email receipts work the same way. The raw message content never leaves your phone.
Yes. Your legacy vault uses X25519 key exchange with AES-GCM-256 encryption — the same standard used by Signal and WhatsApp. The encryption key is generated on your device and stored in your phone's secure hardware (Android Keystore or Apple Keychain). Even Junto's servers cannot decrypt your vault data.
Junto only processes notifications from financial apps and delivery services — never WhatsApp, social media, or personal messages. You can see and edit the list of monitored apps at any time in Settings. For email, we only read receipts from known retailers and airlines using a whitelist approach.
